AASL says over $10,000 generated from Ratmalana private jet movement

While stating that Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka (AASL) is strongly committed to generating much needed foreign exchange to the country to support its economy, it was revealed in a statement that over USD 10,000.00 would have been generated for Sri Lanka from the recent movement of a private jet through Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana. The aircraft being referred to is the same one which sparked several rumours of Basil Rajapaksa leaving the country.  It also mentioned that USD 3750.00 for refueling from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and USD 2,260.00 was generated as revenue for AASL. This is in addition to the handling charges by the local agent and ground arrangements for the passengers. “A Cessna Citation X,N750GF charter flight arrived at Colombo International Airport – Ratmalana from King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh on 28 March 2022. All ground handling requirements were covered by AASL’s own ground Handling Team. CIAR hopes to handle more private/corporate & charter flights in the future thereby supporting the economy of the country by bringing in much needed foreign exchange. The said Cessna Citation X, N750GF charter flight departed from Colombo International Airport – Ratmalana to Jebel Ali Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) UAE on today with 02 High Networth Individuals,” the AASL said. In conclusion the AASL earnestly requested the public to refrain from circulating false and misleading information hereby protecting the rights of these International passengers who are supporting the economy at this difficult time.
