‘Abans-Mistral Hithawathkama’ CSR project

The corporate social responsibility (CSR) project “Abans-Mistral Hithawathkama” was recently launched to assist low-income families who have fallen on hard times due to the prevailing instability in the country. Essentials including dry rations were distributed among selected households. The 20 kg pack included rice, flour, dhal, sugar, noodles, soap, toothpaste, tea, salt, soya meat, spices, and many other essentials required by a household. To ensure transparency, needy households were identified with the intervention of two Catholic churches in the area. The programme was conducted at St. Matthias Church, Moratuwa and Methodist Church, Kadalana under the patronage of Reverends Sagara Perera and Anura Perera. The occasion was graced by Mayer Marketing Singapore Head of International Sales Frank Lim. Representing Abans PLC, Chief Marketing Officer Buddhika Dharmawardena, Deputy General Manager – Marketing Ruwan Gunasekara, Senior Brand Manager Charith Fernando, Senior Brand Manager Emudu Perera, and Assistant Manager – Marketing Niroshan Murugiah, and other officials attended the event. The donations were made after the performance of religious rites and a brief introduction about the project by the respective Reverends of both churches. It was communicated that Abans, in collaboration with Mistral, will continue to engage in such productive CSR projects in the future.
