Chairman of India’s Adani Group Gautam Adani met with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today (26).
Taking to twitter to confirm that the meeting took place, Adani expressed that he was privileged to meet the President and the Prime Minister.
Further to this, he also stated that in addition to developing Colombo Port's Western Container Terminal, the Adani Group will explore other infrastructure partnerships with Sri Lanka
Adani remarked that India's strong bonds with Sri Lanka are anchored in historic ties that span centuries into the past.
Earlier today at the Cabinet Media briefing, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Ramesh Pathirana said that Adani’s visit is not an official one, but rather, a private visit.
He added that it is the duty of Sri Lanka to create a conducive atmosphere for investors.
