The Attorney General has filed an Indictment in the Kegalle High Court today (20) under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). Accordingly, he has requested the Chief Justice for a trial at bar to try Naufer Moulawi, Ibrahim Moulawi, Mohammed Sajid, Mohammed Sahid, Sadik Abdullah, Sainul Abdeen, Mohammed Milhan and nine others for conspiracy to cause violence and thereby incite religious ill feeling and disharmony amongst communities. This relates to the destruction of Buddha statues which took place in the Mawanella area in December 2018
