The Attorney General has instructed Inspector General of Police (IGP) C D Wickramaratna to transfer Western Province DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon to prevent any undue interventions in the investigations into the May 9th incidents.
These instructions were given today (23).
Violence broke out on the 9th of May when Pro Government and Anti Government protesters clashed at the Galle Face Green and Temple Trees.
