Following the nomination of Attorney General Dappula de Livera as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Canada, his Coordinating Officer State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne stated today (06) that the offer has been turned down.
While expressing his gratitude to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the opportunity, the AG has conveyed to the President that he is keen on remaining in Sri Lanka so that he can serve the people.
During his tenure from May 2019 to May 2021, Attorney General Dappula de Livera has concluded action in 27,206 criminal cases.
