Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said that all Catholic schools will be closed on the 21st of this month.
He was speaking at a special media briefing held at the Archbishop's official residence in Colombo.
The Archbishop said the holiday would be extended to all Catholic schools run by the Catholic Church to commemorate his relatives who died in the Easter attacks.
