One of the suspects who was arrested in connection with planting a hand grenade inside the All Saints’ Church in Borella, has been remanded until the 25th of January.
He was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday (13).
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) confirmed that 3 out of the 4 suspects who have been arrested in connection to the incident is being interrogated under detention orders.
The suspect identified as Indika Perera, along with his defence attorney, claimed that he was not involved in the crime and that with his assistance only was the police able to locate the grenade.
Whereas, the additional magistrate said that bail was not possible as the investigation was still in the initial stages.
