By Asiri Fernando The Association of Medical Specialists (AMS) will launch a one day trade union action as a mark of protest against the assault on peaceful protestors. "The executive committee of the association of medical specialists hereby condemn state sponsored barbaric attack on peaceful protesters at mynahgogama opposite Temple Trees and gotagogama at Galleface today. We are surprised to witness such a disorderly event not only in the presence of hundreds of law enforcement authorities but also while emergency regulations are in force. Therefore the AMS has decided to engage in an island wide trade union action tomorrow Tuesday 10th May 2022  as a mark protest and anger. "We will not attend to private or public patients except in emergency situations" the AMS said in a press release. According to the AMS, institutions dedicated for Child, Maternal and cancer care will not participate In tommorow’s TU action. The AMS urges the public not to go to hospital if it is not an emergency and regrets the inconvenience caused.
