Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam has issued a warning to former Parliamentarian Thisakuttiarachchi, urging him to refrain from making irresponsible statements at public meetings.
The caution follows remarks Thisakuttiarachchi made in Anuradhapura, where he claimed he would be the “unofficial President” if Namal Rajapaksa were to become president. He also suggested that Rajapaksa should “reciprocate” the support of the people in the district.
The Morning learns that Thisakuttiarachchi has been summoned to the SLPP office for further action.
