Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today (9), according to the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva and Central provinces and in the Batticaloa, Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts after 2.00 p.m.

The public has been advised to take adequate precautions against temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
