The Department of Meteorology has issued a red-level warning for strong winds and rough seas in parts of the Bay of Bengal.

Wind speeds in the affected sea areas may reach 70 kmph, with heavy thundershowers and very rough seas expected.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised not to venture into sea areas between 10°N–22°N latitude and 82°E–90°E longitude until further notice.
