The Indian Air Force (IAF) has completed its disaster relief operations in Sri Lanka following the destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The first MI-17 V5 helicopter left the island on 06 December, while the second departed on Monday (08), marking the official end of the IAF’s coordinated mission with the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).

During their deployment, the helicopters delivered essential relief supplies, evacuated stranded civilians, and supported rescue operations in hard-hit areas, serving as a crucial lifeline for affected communities.

SLAF Director General Air Operations Air Vice Marshal Dammika Dias and senior officers bid farewell to the crews, expressing deep gratitude for the IAF’s timely and dedicated assistance.
