The Government has allocated Rs. 1 million to every District and Divisional Secretariat under the ‘Praja Shakthi’ National Programme to modernise public administration.
The funds will be used to purchase IT hardware and strengthen digital capacity among public sector officers, as part of a broader plan to shift state institutions toward efficient, technology-driven operations.
A total of Rs. 369 million has been allocated to upgrade regional administrative structures marking the first direct investment in boosting regional IT capabilities.
The Government says it will continue increasing digital infrastructure investments through future national budgets.
