Rumesh Tharanga clinched the gold medal in the men's javelin throw at the Asian Javelin Throwing Championship in South Korea with a remarkable distance of 85.45 meters, setting both a new match and Sri Lankan record.

In the women's category, Nadeesha Dilhani Siyakage secured a bronze medal with a throw of 57.94 meters. Diana Maduwanthi also represented Sri Lanka well, finishing seventh in the tournament with a performance of 48.46 meters.
