The Cabinet has approved the development of two 50MW wind power plants in Mullikulum, Mannar, advancing Sri Lanka’s goal of generating 70% of its electricity from renewables by 2030.
Following international competitive bidding, seven proposals were received, and the Cabinet-appointed committee recommended two developers. The projects have been awarded to:
Vidullanka PLC–David Pieris Motor Company Consortium
WindForce PLC
The 100MW Mullikulum Wind Power Park will operate under a Build–Own–Operate model with a 20-year monitoring period.
