The R/V Dr. Fridtjof Nansen, a vessel under the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) flagged by the United Nations, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (11). 

The vessel will conduct a comprehensive marine scientific survey within Sri Lanka’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The arrival of the vessel is on the invitation of the Sri Lankan government and is a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, and the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA).
