Rs. 2.5 mn Insurance Coverage introduced for farm houses

The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board has introduced an insurance scheme covering farm houses used for cattle, buffaloes, goats and pigs.


The scheme provides compensation of up to Rs. 2.5 million for damage caused by floods, storms, lightning, landslides and wild animals.


Farmers will pay a basic premium of 2.5% of the insured amount, with an additional 1% for fire-related coverage.
