A Sri Lankan in Melbourne, Australia has reportedly become a millionaire by doing cleaning jobs.

Australian television had featured Sri Lankan-born Vinul Karunaratne, calling it a true “rags to riches story”.

Seven News had reported that 25-year-old Karunaratne had turned his side hustle into a full-time job and that he had earned enough money to purchase his dream car and a luxury apartment for his parents in Sri Lanka.

“The faster you do the more jobs you can get done and the more money you can make,” he had told Seven News.

Karunaratne is reportedly a top 10 earner for Airtasker, an Australian company which provides an online and mobile marketplace.

Meanwhile, Airtasker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Fung had said that anyone could earn some serious money through the platform by working hard.

According to Seven News, Karunaratne now has enough money to make a deposit for his own house in Australia.
