Last death not caused by COVID-19; Epidemiology Unit revises death count

The Epidemiology Unit today revised the COVID-19 death count in the country to 21, saying the death of 27-year-old male from Panadura was not caused by COVID-19. The Government Information Department said the Epidemiology Unit earlier confirmed the death of the 27-year-old as the 22nd COVID-19 death in the country. “However, the virus was not the cause of the death of the victim. Therefore, the Epidemiology Unit has decided to revise the COVID-19 death count to 21 and to report the suicide case separately,” it said.
