Decision on burying COVID-19 victims after experts committee submits reports: Minister

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said today a decision on the burial of COVID-19 victims would be taken after the experts committee appointed to look into the matter submits its reports. Minister Wanniarachchi said there were several requests to allow burials of those died from COVID-19. “The experts committee appointed in this regard is yet to submit more reports. However, the issue was taken up at the last Cabinet meeting and the ministers informed me to make a decision based on the experts committee recommendations. Once I receive them, I will make a decision,” the minister said.
