Kalana Perera takes 8 wkts. for 1 run for S. Thomas’

Lavinia, took eight wickets for just a single run against St. Mary’s College, Kegalle in the second-innings of their fixture of the Singer Trophy Under-19 inter-schools cricket tournament, played at Mount Lavinia on Wednesday, 30 October. St. Mary’s were bowled out for six runs in 10.5 overs. They only played 6.5 overs on day two. This was reportedly the lowest score in the series so far. Two runs came from the bat and the other four came from extras. S. Thomas’ won the match by an innings and 233 runs. Scores: S. Thomas’ 311/8 decl. in 64.3 overs (Umayanga Suwaris 107 n.o., Shalin De Mel 66, Sithara Hapuinna 47, Deon Fernando 46, Kalana Perera 25; Hiran Biyagama 4/85, Sineth Weerasooriya 3/102) St. Mary’s, Kegalle 72 in 23 overs (M. Walisinghe 34; Kalana Perera 8/17) and (4/5 o/n) 6 runs all out in 10.5 overs (Kalana Perera 8/1).
