One of the five COVID-19 positive inmates who escaped from the Gallella Treatment Centre in Polonnaruwa early this morning, was found in Dematapitiya, Chilaw, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. He said the Madampe Police have captured the 27-year-old inmate from Dematapitiya. The inmates were transferred to the Gallella Treatment Centre from the Negombo Prison after being tested positive for COVID-19. The DIG said the escaped inmates have pending court cases against them and the majority of them are addicted to drugs.
