Co-Cabinet Spokesman, Minister of Plantation Industries Dr. Ramesh Pathirana says that the reports of  a shortage in vaccine doses for the second phase of vaccination are baseless. The Minister said that although there is a risk of the re-emergence of Covid-19 due to the festive season, the health sector is taking steps to deal with it and there should be no undue fear in this regard. He was addressing the Cabinet media briefing at the Information Department today (20). The Minister said that the health sector had controlled the first and second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the same way and the government was closely monitoring the situation.
