Mrs World 2020 crown passes to Ireland from SL
2 years ago
The Mrs World Inc. said that it had both received and accepted Mrs World 2020 Caroline Jurie’s relinquishing of her title as Mrs World 2020, making Mrs Ireland the new holder of the coveted title. In a statement issued in this regard, Mrs World Inc. stated that this resignation was voluntary and had been made solely by Jurie. Accordingly, the first runner-up Mrs Ireland Kate Schneider will now become the new Mrs World 2020. This comes in the wake of a video statement published by Jurie on 9 April, in which Jurie had revealed that she was ready to relinquish her title. Jurie was embroiled in a controversy involving the finale of the Mrs Sri Lanka 2021 pageant held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre recently where she and model Chula Padmendra had forcibly de-crowned Pushpika De Silva after she was declared the winner of Mrs Sri Lanka 2021. De Silva was subsequently re-crowned. Aspects of the incident are presently before court along with the issue of the alleged damage caused to the property of the theatre on the day of the said incident.
