By Yumiko Perera The Government has not yet decided on convening a meeting of leaders of political parties represented in Parliament, The Sunday Morning learnt. Presidential Spokesperson Kingsley Ratnayake told us yesterday (21) that an all-party leaders meeting was unlikely to take place any time soon given the present Covid-19 lockdown. He added that the priority of the Government at present was to accelerate the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination programme. Leaders of the governing alliance as well as the Opposition have called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to convene a meeting of party leaders to discuss the present Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country and to resolve the crises.
