Retired Judge Kusala Sarojani Weerawardene appointed to look into Ratwatte incidents

Justice Minister Ali Sabry has appointed retired Judge Kusala Sarojani Weerawardene to hold an independent inquiry into the recent incidents at the Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons, involving former State Minister of Prisons and Prisoner Rehabilitation Lohan Ratwatte.
Whilst “unequivocally and unconditionally” condemning the incidents which had occurred at the Welikada and Anuradhapura Prisons complexes involving Ratwatte, Ali Sabry said yesterday (22) that a retired High Court (HC) Judge will be appointed to independently inquire into the incidents.
