Minister Namal Rajapaksa says that the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) will see record traffic growth this year.
Accordingly, he notes that cargo operations at the airport have also increased.
In a tweet today, the Minister revealed that the airport has seen 25,767 passenger movements so far in 2021. Meanwhile in 2020 and 2019, passenger traffic stood at 17,544 and 1,403 movements respectively.
“The Government is committed to promoting MRIA as a hub in the region,” he stated.
