Further to the report which was released by the Pentagon alleging the set up of Chinese military bases in other countries around the world including Sri Lanka, the Chinese Embassy responded via a twitter post. This tweet was posted yesterday (05). "A thief believes everybody steals," read the tweet, pointing out that the United States of America (USA) is maintaining about 750 military bases overseas. The report from the Pentagon also stated that China may increase its nuclear warheads up to 1000 by 2030. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin responded to the accusations made by the Pentagon yesterday during a media brief. "The USA is using this report to hype up the China nuclear threat theory. No country will be threatened by China's nuclear weapons as long as it doesn't use nuclear weapons against China," said Wenbin.
