Amãna Takaful Life introduces three new Board Directors

Amãna Takaful Life Insurance announced the appointment of three new additions to its Board of Directors. The new appointees are K.R. Ravindran, Shehara De Silva, and Hassan Kassim. Printcare PLC Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K.R. Ravindran is a business leader of great repute. He serves as a Director in all the group’s companies as well as in a multitude of charitable trusts and foundations, both locally and overseas. Ravindran served as the 105th President of Rotary International, which is one of the world’s largest service organisations. He was the only Sri Lankan and only the 10th Asian to have held this prestigious title. He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Rotary Foundation. Additionally, Ravindran was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers and was conferred with the title of “Sri Lanka Sikhamini” by the Government of Sri Lanka. International branding and communication specialist Shehara De Silva has vast market development experience in East Asia and Sri Lanka. She has had great success with multiple regional and multinational Fortune 500 companies. De Silva was also Director of Planning for Naga DDB in Malaysia and went on to serve as Managing Director of Interbrand Malaysia. She also became Group Director of Strategy for Foetus, where she oversaw a broad spectrum of companies in digital marketing, interactive marketing, public relations, and marketing communications. She served as the Deputy General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI). De Silva has also consulted for the United Nations (UN) International Labour Organisation (ILO), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and more, focusing on gender and competitiveness. She currently serves on the Board of Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust and previously served on the Boards of the Arthur C. Clarke Institute of Modern Technologies and Eagle Fund Management. Amãna Takaful PLC Managing Director Hassan Kassim holds a BA (Hons.) in Management Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK. Kassim is an experienced business leader and was recently appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Aberdeen Holdings. He is also the Founder and CEO of Expo Commodities Global. Kassim previously served as the Head of International Trading at Lanka Commodity Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd. and as Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Expolanka Holdings PLC. Additionally, Kassim also serves as a Board Member of Lanka Commodity Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd., Roar Digital (Pvt.) Ltd., Bio Extracts (Pvt.) Ltd., Expo Ceylon Pharmaceuticals (Pvt.) Ltd., and Ruhunu Farms (Pvt.) Ltd.
