Family members of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today (19), as investigations into alleged financial misconduct continue.

Rambukwella, his wife Kusum Priyadarshini Epa, and daughter Chandula Ramali Rambukwella were remanded yesterday after failing to meet bail conditions following their arrest under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Although the Colombo Magistrate’s Court granted them bail on 18 June, the suspects were unable to satisfy the cash and surety requirements, resulting in their temporary remand.

The court had also imposed a travel ban on the trio as part of the bail conditions.
