Police launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a 7-year-old in Udagama, Passara.

According to police, the child was admitted to District Hospital Passara last night (9) due to an illness and later passed away. She had reportedly been receiving treatment for fever and cold for about a week.

Police stated that the death is being treated as suspicious based on a statement by the doctor, who observed injury marks on the child's body during examination.

The exact cause of death remains undetermined, while the body was placed at the hospital for a post-mortem examination.
