The Cabinet has approved awarding the Sri Lanka Railway Department’s scrap metal disposal tender to the highest responsive bidders.

Following a national competitive bidding process with 11 submissions, the Standing Procurement Committee recommended two companies:

M/s Melwire Rolling (Pvt) Ltd – Rs. 721.257 million (including VAT)

M/s S.R. Steel (Pvt) Ltd – Rs. 167.507 million (including VAT)

The Cabinet granted approval based on the committee’s evaluation and recommendations.
