Former tennis champion Mahesha Senevirathne steered Bishopians to emerge as champions with a star-studded knock of 49 runs not out at the ‘Battle of the Queens’ inaugural past pupils league cricket tournament by beating Methodist College in the final.
The tournament, organised by the Past Pupils Association of Bishops College, St. Bridgets Convent, Ladies College, and Methodist College, was played at the Wesley College ground recently.
The tournament is dedicated to the former Sri-Lanka Women’s cricket captain, Niloufer Philips Arasakumar, in whose honour a challenge trophy had been donated by Chantal De Seram.
