TIME Magazine names its 100 most influential people of 2026

16 Apr 2026 | BY Staff Writer

The TIME Magazine has released its much-anticipated annual TIME100 list, featuring the 100 people shaping the world right now. The 2026 list is a mix of political heavyweights, cultural icons, and rising global voices.

As per usual, global political figures makes a big chunk of the list. Leaders like Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Xi Jinping feature prominently, alongside newer and emerging figures such as New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani. The lineup also includes key policymakers like Marco Rubio, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

From Asia, Japan’s first woman prime minister Sanae Takaichi and Nepal’s young leader Balendra Shah mark a generational shift in leadership. Religious and diplomatic voices like Pope Leo XIV and US envoy Steve Witkoff also find a place.

For India, three familiar names stand out, each representing influence in very different arenas. Sundar Pichai continues to be recognised for steering Google’s massive push into artificial intelligence, making cutting-edge tech accessible to billions worldwide.

In entertainment, Ranbir Kapoor earns a spot, with actor Ayushmann Khurrana praising his ability to deliver powerful performances without chasing conventional stardom. Kapoor, he notes, is someone who builds legacy through craft rather than spectacle.

Meanwhile, chef Vikas Khanna represents India’s culinary influence on the global stage. Celebrated for turning food into storytelling, Khanna’s work bridges cultures by bringing Indian traditions to international audiences in a deeply personal way.

Beyond politics and entertainment, the list spans business leaders, scientists, athletes, and changemakers. Names like YouTube star MrBeast, designer Ralph Lauren, and tennis sensation Alysa Liu reflect the wide spectrum of modern influence.
