Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya stated that education is a fundamental right of every child and not a privilege.

She made the remarks at the “Nana Isura – 2026” scholarship awarding ceremony held in memory of the late Ven. Galboda Siri Gnanissara Thero.

She noted that the programme would support efforts to prevent children from leaving the education system.
