Customs Narcotics Control Division officers at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have arrested a 39-year-old Indian national with 2.832 kilos of heroin. 

The seized narcotic is valued at Rs. 84.96 million. 

The suspect arrived from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday (26) at 4:15 p.m. and had concealed the heroin in his luggage. 

Preliminary investigations suggest the drugs were intended for local agents at a hotel in Bambalapitiya, Colombo. 

The suspect is due to appear before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
