• Suwa Seriya expansion and Mullaitivu DGH ward complex under consideration 

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the construction of a two-storey accident and emergency unit at the Mannar District General Hospital (DGH) and for the supply of medical equipment to the same, with grant assistance of Rs. 600 million from the Government of India, was signed on Tuesday (9). 

Further, Indian grant assistance for the expansion of the Suwa Seriya ‘1990’ ambulance service and the construction of a four-storey ward complex at the Mullaitivu DGH are currently under active consideration.
