A formal complaint was filed with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday (4) against Tusitha Halloluwa over an alleged defamatory statement involving President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Halloluwa, a former official under ex-President Wickremesinghe, is accused of spreading false claims damaging the President’s reputation.

The complaint, submitted by Attorney Akalanka Ukwatta on the President’s instructions, seeks immediate investigation and legal action against Halloluwa and social media users who circulated the statement.
