Police have arrested 46 candidates and 199 political supporters for violating election laws ahead of the 2025 Local Government (LG) election.
The arrests took place between 3 March and 30 April, with recent detentions, including 3 more candidates and 9 supporters.
Police received 25 complaints between the mornings of 3 and 4 May, adding to a total of 549 complaints so far.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to enforcing the law during the election period.
The Local Government (LG) election is scheduled for 6 May.
