The Sri Lanka national baseball team is in all readiness to head over to Islamabad, Pakistan, as they prepare to defend the West Asia Baseball Cup, which was won in 2019.
The team departed Sri Lanka yesterday (25) to participate in the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup which is set to begin tomorrow (27) and go on till 1 February 2023.
Sri Lanka is set to face Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, while the toughest test would be against the hosts Pakistan.
The tournament, which was scheduled to be held in 2022, was postponed on numerous occasions but is now set to take place tomorrow.
Sri Lanka will be spearheaded by the winning captain and coach combination from 2019, Sameera Rathnayake and Japanese national, Kazuto Nonaka, respectively.
