Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) cruised to a commanding 6-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), effectively knocking them out of playoff contention. Chasing 206, SRH overhauled the target with 10 balls to spare, led by a blistering fifty from Abhishek Sharma.
Despite the early loss of opener Taide, SRH maintained their aggressive tempo. Abhishek’s brutal assault, featuring 4 consecutive sixes off Ravi Bishnoi, took the game away from LSG. Though Ishan Kishan’s innings was subdued and both Henrich Klassen and Kamindu Mendis couldn’t finish unbeaten, SRH had already done the damage.
Earlier, LSG posted 205/7 after a strong 115-run opening stand, with Marsh scoring 65 off 39 balls. Debutant Harsh Dubey and Ehsan Malinga pegged them back in the middle overs, with Malinga finishing with an impressive 2/28. Harshal Patel, however, had a forgettable outing at the death.
Digvesh Singh picked up key wickets for LSG, including Abhishek and Kishan, but lacked support. The playoff race now intensifies as all eyes turn to the Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) fixture, with both sides still in the hunt.
