Sri Lanka and Thailand have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations following talks between Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and Thailand’s Acting Foreign Minister Sarun Charoensuwan in Bangkok.

The discussions focused on expediting arrangements for a visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, aimed at facilitating travel, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, labour mobility, education, maritime security and cultural exchanges.

The Foreign Ministry stated that both countries remain committed to advancing practical areas of cooperation.
