SriLankan Cargo has made history as South Asia’s first airline cargo division to earn the CEIV Lithium Batteries Certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The certification affirms the carrier's excellence in handling sensitive lithium and sodium-ion battery shipments and strengthens its credibility in the global cargo industry.

It positions SriLankan Cargo to tap into the growing e-commerce market by removing barriers in battery transport and opening up new revenue opportunities.

The IATA audit covered every stage of cargo handling, with improvements expected to benefit both Sri Lanka’s export sector and the airline’s operational efficiency.

With this milestone, SriLankan Cargo joins a select group of global carriers leading the way in safe and compliant battery transportation.
