MAS Holdings emerged victorious in the ‘D’ Division Women’s Championship of the 33rd Mercantile Services Basketball Association (MSBA) League, beating Hayleys 58-34 in the finals held at the Royal College Indoor Sports Complex recently.

Mihiri Alwis of MAS Holdings was named the recipient of the prestigious Ranil Ganewatte Memorial Best Player Award for ‘D’ Division Women. Her outstanding contributions throughout the tournament were instrumental in her team’s success, especially scoring 25 points in the final. 

Vishmi Dias was the second highest point scorer with 18, followed by former skipper Amanda Siriwardena’s 6. For Hayleys, Malsha Senanayake top scored with 18 and Amanda Denuwara notched up 11 points.

At half-time, MAS had a commanding 38-17 lead. The victorious MAS Holdings outfit was led by Hasini Rajapakshe along with Dias as Vice Captain. Coach Ismail Salahudeen and Assistant Coach Joshua Siriwardena guided the winning team with their expertise.
