The United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, met with Taliya Peiris, the reigning Miss California Teen, the first Sri Lankan-American to hold the title.

Recognising Taliya's passion for the arts, Ambassador Chung acknowledged the significant impact she has made in inspiring young individuals at the American Centre.
Encouraging her further, Ambassador Chung conveyed her best wishes for Taliya's upcoming participation in the Miss Teen America competition this autumn.
In addition to her pageant commitments, Taliya will continue her academic pursuits at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, with aspirations of becoming a business analyst in the entertainment industry.
