The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for the Eastern Province and Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Polonnaruwa and Monaragala districts.

The heat index is expected to reach the ‘Caution’ level in some areas during the daytime tomorrow (19).

The Met Department warned that prolonged exposure to the sun and strenuous outdoor activity could cause fatigue and heat cramps.

Residents have been advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities.
