The Cabinet has approved the procurement of 30,000 vials of 50 mg liposomal amphotericin B for Rs. 194.26 million from Slim Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd.

The drug used to treat severe fungal infections like cryptococcal meningitis is critical for patients with weakened immune systems.

Following international competitive bidding, Slim Pharmaceuticals, representing Indian manufacturer Gufic Bioscience Ltd., was selected as the lowest responsive bidder.

The decision was made based on the recommendation of the High Level Standing Procurement Committee.
