The father of suspected major drug trafficker Shiran Basik has been arrested by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) in connection with an investigation into a property worth approximately Rs. 30 million.

Investigations have revealed that Shiran Basik allegedly purchased an apartment at a luxury apartment complex in the Gampaha area, with the property registered in his father’s name.

Basik’s father was instructed to appear before the CCIB today (11) to provide a statement regarding the property and was subsequently arrested.
