The Welfare Benefits Board says May payments under the “Aswesuma” scheme will be credited tomorrow (29) for senior citizens aged over 70.

Payments will be deposited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

A total of Rs. 3.49bn has been allocated for around 700,000 eligible recipients under the first and second phases.

The programme is managed under the Welfare Benefits Board, covering selected elderly beneficiaries islandwide.
